After 22 years of self-employment in the agriculture field, Michael ‘Mike’ Isom was ready for a career change.
As many of us do in times of uncertainty, Mike sought out his family for suggestions. His brother, an Agent for Life Insurance Company (LNL) at the time, said he knew of the perfect job.
Four years and two promotions later, Mike found himself Agency Owner of the Albertville, Alabama, Agency Office. While his brother has since retired from Liberty National, Mike is ensuring the ‘Isom’ family name sticks around Liberty National by making up for what he views as lost time. “If I could start all over, I’d have begun my career with LNL much earlier in my life,” Mike says.
Fully aware that option doesn’t exist, Mike is making the most of his time at Liberty National while encouraging his staff to do the same.
“It’s been so rewarding to help others grow in this career and help them achieve goals they’ve set for themselves,” Mike says, referring to his loyal team of Agents in Albertville. “My greatest accomplishment here has been promoting people from my Agency into management and furthering their careers.”
These days Mike is quick to suggest to others the very same suggestion his brother offered him years ago, one that resulted in him making what he calls “one of the wisest decisions I’ve ever made” – joining Liberty National. But along with it, he offers his own suggestion: “Always treat your customers as you would like to be treated. If you keep this in mind, you can have a very fulfilling and profitable career here.”
